The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India which was begun in 1969. Its primary aim is personality development through social (or community) service. The NSS motto is “Not Me, Not You but We”.

The social activities aim to include social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead life of dignity.

Workshop on Leadership

The above mentioned workshop was conducted on September 15th 2015 and the resource person was Dr. Shikaripura Krishnamurthy. More than 300 NSS volunteers from our institution had participated in the workshop. The workshop was all about the leadership qualities which are lagging in present generation. This was really beneficial for our students.

Talk on Gandhian Principles

The above mentioned talk was conducted on November 2nd 2015 and the resource person was Prof. Varadesh Hiregange. More than 150 NSS volunteers from our institution had participated in the workshop. The talk was regarding the gandhian principles including untouchability, religious unity, swadeshi, truth & non violence.


A blood donation camp named SANJEEVINI was organized on 6th November 2015 in association with Indian Red Cross Society. Blood banks of six hospitals had participated in the camp. More than 480 people including students as well as faculties donated their blood.

Talk on Social Entrepreneur

The above mentioned talk was conducted on Febraury 27th 2016 and the resource person was Dr.R Karthikeyan. Dr.R Karthikeyan is a clinical psychologist who turned as a Human Resource Professional & Head of Gemba Management Consulting ltd, Chennai. More than 300 NSS volunteers from our institution had participated in the talk.

Grameena Yoga Chikitsa Shibira

The above mentioned event is conducted on April 5th 2016. The main aim was to give the information regarding benefits of doing yoga for different kind of health problems. This was conducted in Govt Primary School, Mijar during Samudayadatta ( Parents Meet ) program. More than 200 parents got free checkup and yoga therapy from Dr.Mahesh Pandit who is CMO, Alva’s Naturopathy Hospital, Mijar.
