Department CSE in association with the Computer Science Engineers forum CIMANIX conducted Two days Rural Computer Education Camp at Kamalashile, Kundapura Taluak on 19th & 20th January, 2015. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Peter Fernandes, Principal, AIET, Moodbidri.
After the inauguration Principal said that “Alva’s Engineering Students are conducted a two social activities every semester from each department. In this connection, the Computer Science Engineering students are doing another unique programme like teaching Computer Fundamentals to Students of Rural Area Kannada Medium School. The intention of our Chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva is also same that development of Rural Kannada Medium School. He added that the students of Kamalashile village Schools definitely make use of this training camp facility with high enthusiasm”. On behalf of Alva’s Education Foundation, Dr. Peter Fernandes donated the 6 Computer Systems to Kamalshile School.
The camp was conducted for two schools(Govt. Pry School and High School) at Kamalashile. The Head Master Mr. Shankar of Govt. Pry School and Headmaster Mr. Surendra Shetty appreciated about this camp. Around 50-60 parents of students, panchyath members and School Trustees were present during the programme. Under the guidance of Prof. Manjunath Kotari HOD, CSE a team of 15 students of Computer Science & Engineering were participated and trained the students of Kamalashile Schools. The fundamentals of the Computers given with handson training. Staff Ms. Chinmai Shetty accompanied the students during this 2 days camp .
