Dr. Vinayaka Hegde was a resource person called for a guest lecture session on “Agrochemicals and Safety use of Pesticides in Plantation Crops”. He started the session starting from the basic concept of agrochemicals and effective use of pesticide in plantation crops explained and his detailed explanation indicated about role of Agrochemicals to protect crops from insects, diseases and weeds and eventually rescue crop losses. At the end of the talk students come to know the importance of precise application of various agrochemicals are being used by the farmers in India. They also come to know the impact of indiscriminate application of some of the pesticides to the plantation crops and the safety precautions to be taken by the farmers while applying them to the crop.
