The Coders of Alva’s organized workshop on “Coding Skills” on 21st September 2019 which was delivered by Mr. Badrinath, Programmer at Amazon Kindle E-Books The workshop was inaugurated by Placement head Mr Sushanth Anil Lobo, coordinator, Mr. Manjunath H.R and other faculties.
He started with the interaction about how to solve problems by making the solution part by part and simpler in the terms of writing the code..He made it simpler for us by teaching us the way to approach a problem, that is, by finding the solution for a problem part by part and then combining them together.
His ideology: On seeing a problem, don’t write the easiest code that strikes your mind first, but write the right code.
He gave us all a brief idea and explanation about Resume building, which included the aspects of what to write? And what not to write in a resume.
Some of the important points to be kept in mind while building a resume are as follows:
- Mention your Area of interest.
- Mention the details about the internship projects , the details to be mentioned are :
- What does your project contain that is related to your Area of interest?
- How has it helped others?
- What is the knowledge gained from it?
- Certification courses completed during the term are important.
Before you add any single content to the resume, it needs to be explanatory to the question “so what?”He says “A student before attending an interview need to have Basic knowledge of all his engineering subjects”. And he also said, “10 lines of coding everyday changes our programming knowledge”.
The mouse and cheese problem
- Find out the number of possible ways for mouse to reach cheese in the maze. Writing the code by understanding the mathematics induction concept makes this solution easier.
Writing the code for side view and top view of tree structure
- Basic knowledge about the tree traversals and the levels of the tree is important.
At last he summarized the things he mentioned in the complete session and motivated the students to improve their coding and logical programming skills.
Finally on behalf of the Management, Principal, Staff and students, we would thank Mr. Badrinath for the presentation in workshop
