Prajna the Sanskrit club of AIET Started with the aim and objective of inculcating the good qualities of Indian culture and the great languages. The club is promoting our beloved Sanskrit language and making efforts to resurrect its lost glory. Together we strive to explore and spread the rich wealth of our ancient texts through various activities.

Description

The Club was established in the year 2022 with the objective of developing a love for
literature, art and culture. To improve the interest of the youth towards the most ancient
language and promote its usage by conducting competitions and seminar to those students
to get efficient in reading, writing and understanding the language. Sanskrit Club have
organized following programmes.

  • Sanskrit chintanam on Inner truth revealed in Mahabharata by shri. Shri.
    Japasiddaananda swamiiji, Ramakrishna mission Vivekananda research center
    Belur Mata.
  • One day workshop on Self Unfoldment by Dr. G N Bhat, former principal &
    President Sanskritha Shodha Samstanam Bangalore.
  • Guest talk on Sanskrit and Science by Dr. Udayakumar Saralattaya, Sanskrith
    Vidwan and Diwan Sri Shiroor Mata Udupi.
Method of Execution of Events

Execution of Events involves planning, coordinating, and executing an event to achieve a
desired outcome. It involves a range of activities, from identifying the purpose of the event
to ensuring its success through effective organization and execution. The goal of event is to
create a memorable experience for attendees while achieving the objectives set by the
organizers.

 Vision and Mission of Prajna Sanskrit Club

 Vision

The vision of the Prajna Sanskrit Club is to revive and promote Sanskrit learning by integrating it into the academic and cultural fabric of Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology. The club envisions a generation of students who can connect traditional Indian wisdom with contemporary scientific understanding.

 Mission

  • To promote the Sanskrit language through interactive learning sessions.

  • To organize cultural programs, competitions, and seminars related to Sanskrit literature.

  • To highlight the relevance of Sanskrit in modern science, technology, and linguistics.

  • To nurture a sense of pride in India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

  • To foster linguistic creativity, expression, and communication among students.

Activities and Initiatives

The Prajna Sanskrit Club is known for its dynamic initiatives and creative events that attract participation from students across disciplines. Every semester, the club hosts a variety of events that bring Sanskrit closer to the younger generation in meaningful and engaging ways.

 1. Sanskrit Day Celebrations

The annual Sanskrit Day is one of the grandest events of the club. It features Shloka chanting, Sanskrit plays, debates, and cultural performances inspired by ancient Indian texts. The event celebrates the beauty of Sanskrit through art, music, and literature.

 2. Workshops and Lectures

To deepen understanding, the club organizes interactive workshops and guest lectures by renowned Sanskrit scholars and professors. These sessions explore topics such as Sanskrit in modern science, Vedic mathematics, Ayurvedic concepts, and philosophical literature.

One such event was a lecture on “Relevance of Sanskrit in Today’s Technological World,” where speakers highlighted how Sanskrit grammar structures influenced computer programming and linguistic algorithms.

 3. Shloka Recitation Competitions

Reciting Sanskrit verses requires precision and understanding of meter and pronunciation. The Shloka Pathan competitions encourage students to memorize and present verses from ancient scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, and Ramayana, enhancing their linguistic and oratory skills.

 4. Sanskrit Drama and Cultural Programs

The club frequently stages Sanskrit plays (Nataka) based on mythological and moral stories. These performances help students appreciate the narrative and dramatic richness of Sanskrit literature while promoting teamwork and artistic expression.

 5. Collaboration with Cultural Clubs

The Prajna Sanskrit Club collaborates with other clubs such as the Adyathma Club, Kala Club, and NSS Unit of Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology to organize cross-disciplinary programs blending art, spirituality, and service.

 6. Participation in External Events

Members of the club actively participate in intercollegiate Sanskrit competitions, workshops, and cultural symposiums organized by universities and Sanskrit institutions across Karnataka and India.
